Olive, one of the country’s top consumer food and drink monthlies, has awarded the Ludlow Food Centre ten out of ten representing excellent value for money in a secret survey of local food halls across Britain.

The report can be found in the November issue of the magazine and rates several independent retail stores who are challenging the big name supermarkets when it comes to food quality, local sourcing, knowledgeable staff and good service.

The Ludlow Food Centre, situated in Bromfield on the Earl of Plymouth’s Estate, is given full marks for value, describing the pricing of the store’s own label range of products from freshly baked bread to rare breed meats and exciting, handmade deli items as ‘excellent’, remarking that the organic choices represent ‘particularly good value’.
The Food Centre’s ‘approachable and knowledgeable’ staff are awarded nine out of ten and the store’s general range of products is given seven out of ten with special commendation made of the huge selection of locally pressed ciders and perries.
Managing Director Sandy Boyd is delighted at the glowing review, which comes as the store celebrates its first six months of trading. He says, ‘We had no idea that a reporter from Olive was going to visit us but their enthusiastic appraisal is testament to the whole team and the fantastic quality food and drink that we sell here. It’s good to know a magazine of this calibre thinks we’re getting it right. As a community retailer we are committed to offering customers the widest range of local foods possible at prices that everyone can afford.’
