Ludlow Food Centre has been crowned Food and Drink Champion at this year’s Shropshire Star Spotlight Awards.

The award presentation, held at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn on November 17, brought together more than 30 businesses from the food, tourism and leisure industries to celebrate success and recognition in the county.

More than 15,000 Shropshire Star readers voted online across all of the categories – including Best Food and Drink Champion, Best Restaurant and Best Night Out – to select their final winners.

Ceri Saunders, Marketing Assistant at Ludlow Food Centre, pictured second from right, said upon receiving the award: “Ludlow is a fantastic place in a thriving county, and to be recognised by the Shropshire Star and by Shropshire Star readers is a huge honour.

“We’d like to thank everybody who voted for us, our customers, and of course our incredible producers and staff for allowing us to receive this award tonight.

“We hope to continue to do amazing things in the years to come.”

The award was presented and sponsored by the British Ironwork Centre.

Also present from Ludlow Food Centre to collect the award, pictured, was Damien McNamara, Production Kitchen Manager, Rose Moore, Operations Manager, Julie Preece, HR Manager and Caroline Jones, Head Buyer.
