New Managing Director at the Ludlow Food Centre

Edward Berry, new Managing Director

Edward Berry started this week as the Food Centre’s new Managing Director. Edward has extensive experience in the food and drink industry and moved to the Earl of Plymouth’s Estate in October to start his new role at the Food Centre. He has previously worked with the Savoy Group in London and Paris, and spent many years in the wine trade where he worked with brands such as Krug, Moet Chandon and the iconic New Zealand brand Cloudy Bay. He also has experience of running three of his own retail outlets, a cafe and deli operation in London and Wiltshire. Most recently, Edward, has been Chief Operating Officer at Newby Teas and following the growth and success of the Newby brand he has sought a new challenge. Edward said,

Ludlow Food Centre brings together a considerable range of exemplary food activities under one roof, with home reared and grown produce and both manufacture and retail centres. In a short space of time it has been recognised as both a pioneer and leader in its field. With credit to those with the vision to create it, my objective is to build on its strengths, identify new opportunities and take it to the next level, driving growth and increasing success. “

Edward has been challenged with developing the Food Centre and its product range. Contemplating his new role Edward commented,

“The warm welcome I have received from the community here gives me good reason to expect that making a home here will be a pleasure. Despite having spent time in the city, I have lived for many years in a rural environment and have strong family ties in South Wales. The increasing interest in both food provenance and local sourcing come together in one unique environment, and as someone with a commitment to improving our appreciation of good food, whilst mindful of working within a very special community, I am delighted to have taken on this challenge”
