Will Holland Cooking Demonstration

Will Holland

On November 20th Will Holland, Head Chef at Ludlow’s Michelin starred La Becasse, showed nearly 80 people how to cook Michelin starred food. The cooking demonstration was all in aid of the Air Ambulance and raised £740 for the charity. The aim of the event was to educate people on how to use local, seasonal produce inventively and make the most of the abundant produce from this region. Chef Holland cooked a three course menu using ingredients from the Food Centre, he says,

‘There is so much local produce from the fields of Shropshire that people don’t utilise...the aim of this cooking demonstration is to show how this produce can be used in a variety of seriously tasty dishes’

The County Air Ambulance contributes heavily to rural areas like Shropshire and it is because of this that they were adopted as ‘Charity of the Year 2010’ by the Food Centre. Mr Hunt says,

‘The Air Ambulance plays such an important role in our area and it is great to be able to support them. We have supported them throughout 2010 and has been a great final effort to raise as much as possible on their behalf’

It is hoped there will be further cooking events next year with Will and others.
